Everything Jessica shares is easy, fun, super kid-friendly and very accessible - oftentimes utilizing ingredients that you most likely already have in your kitchen. Each video highlights one recipe and is a treasure trove of details and information. You'll learn how to make your own herbal remedies and medicine, at home, any time.

 

    MAKE IT MONDAY: HERBAL OIL INFUSIONS

    In this episode, Jessica (and special guest Althea) walk through three different oil infusions:

    • Lavender + Calendula infusion for body
    • Alkanet Root in Jojoba oil infusion for body (we'll make into a lip balm in later episode)
    • Rosemary culinary oil infusion

    MAKE IT MONDAY: DIY DEODORANT

    Jessica shows you how to easily make your own deodorant:

    • Ingredients & Recipe:
      • Needed: glass measuring cups, tablespoon, teaspoon, storage jar 
      • 2 heaping tablespoons of coconut oil or shea butter
      • 5 tablespoons of arrowroot flour or corn starch
      • 2 1/2 tablespoons of baking soda
      • Optional: essential oils
    • Instructions:
      • Spoon coconut oil into glass measuring cup, gently heat to melt oil
      • Mix powders together in separate measuring cup
      • Once oil is melted, slowly add powders to oil and stir into mixture
      • Add up to 30 drops of essential oil(s) 
    • Note: this recipe makes a deodorant paste, applied with fingers and stored in a jar

     

    MAKE IT MONDAY: LIP BALMS AND SALVES

    Jessica shows you how to make your own lip balm or salve with the first week's infused oils, plus easy clean up tip! 

    • Ingredients & Recipe:
      • Needed: glass measuring cup, teaspoon, infused oil, pot for heating, beeswax, empty container to store product
      • 1 small teaspoon of beeswaz
      • 1 fluid ounce of oil
    • Instructions: measure 1 ounce of oil in measuring cup, add 1 teaspoon of beeswax and gently heat in pot of water (about 3-4 inches of water) on low heat. Stir often. When beeswax is completely melted, carefully remove measuring cup from pot of water with oven mit and pour into balm or salve container. 
    • NOTE: measuring cup will be hot, use caution. 
    • NOTE: leave lid of balm container until it's completely cooled and hardened.

     

     

     

     

    MAKE IT MONDAY: GARLIC SALT

    Jessica shows you how to make your own garlic salt at home:

    • Ingredients & Recipe:
      • Needed: 2 glass measuring cups, spoon/spatula, food processor or blender, cookie sheet, garlic, sea salt
      • 1 cup fresh garlic cloves
      • 1/2 cup sea salt 
    • Instructions:
      • Mix garlic and salt together in food processor; blend into a paste
      • Pre-heat oven to 200 degrees
      • Spread blended garlic and salt onto cookie sheet, place in oven
      • Keep door of oven ajar 4 inches, stir mixture every 15 minutes 
      • Cook blend for 45 minutes
      • When salt is dried, spoon mixture into blender and grind into a fine powder
